With Christmas being just days away, if you’re anything like me you’ve already plotted what gifts to get your loved ones, holiday parties to hit up and regretting all the food you’ll be consuming till you go back to your gym is life ways in 2017.
But during this season of joy & giving we sometimes forget the ones who really need it the most, the homeless. Every year I try to take part in an volunteer project that can provide the homeless with some joy during the holiday season. That being said I came across the most amazing project ever, The Pop Up Care Shop.
The Pop Up Care Shop created by two NYC ladies Kadia and Kydee is an interactive charity drive project. This is not just your typical charity drive! They collect donations of ranging from clothing to accessories to feminine products and they create what would be considered a store. Normally less fortunate people aren’t able to have the shopping experience that we have during the holidays. But the Pop Up Care shop provides that. Primarily focused on homeless women they are able to go through the racks and actually choose items that they want and can of course leave with their choices. Another perk of this experience, light refreshments are also served! With sponsors Oyin Handmade, CORE, RUNA and more.
The Pop Up Care Shop will take place Saturday, December 10th from 3-5PM exclusively for the women of SAMMON Build
Although they have currently stopped taking donations for this upcoming Pop Up Care Shop , they are STILL accepting volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for this amazing project please contact Kadia or Kydee at: firstname.lastname@example.org
